Michel Platini, Presidente de la UEFA, visitó Estonia para tomar parte en las celebraciones que conmemoran los 100 años de fútbol en el país del Báltico. El primer partido jugado en Estonia del que se tiene constancia se remonta a junio de 1909.
Conferencia en Tallin
Durante su visita, el presidente de la UEFA también acudió a una conferencia sobre los Valores del Fútbol junto al Presidente de la FIFA Joseph S. Blatter y al Presidente de la Federación de Estonia de Fútbol, Aivar Pohlak. Liutauras Varanavičius, miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la UEFA y Presidente de la Federación Lituana de Fútbol, tomó la palabra en el evento que tuvo lugar en el Opetajate Maja, un edificio histórico en el centro de la capital de Estonia.
